For adult websites and platforms

Adult link building, done properly

Adult link building means earning links from sites that real people read, in an industry where many publishers will not link at all and much of what is sold as "links" breaks Google's rules. We find the publishers who will, give them a reason to, label anything paid, and show you every placement in a ledger you can check.

What Google calls a link scheme

Google's spam policies list the kinds of links it treats as manipulation. Several of them are offered to adult sites under friendlier names. This is how each one maps to what we will and will not do.

PracticeWhat it looks likeOur answer
Buying followed linksPaying a site to publish a link that passes ranking credit, without a sponsored or nofollow labelDeclined
Partner pages and swapsAdult sites cross-linking in bulk through "friends" pages or reciprocal dealsDeclined
Network footersThe same links placed in the footers or templates of many sites in one groupDeclined
Directories and bookmarksLow-quality lists that exist only to host linksDeclined
Keyword-stuffed guest postsArticles published widely with exact-match anchor text back to the clientDeclined
Labelled sponsorshipsA paid placement on a real site, marked rel="sponsored" and visibly labelledAccepted
Earned editorial linksA journalist or editor links because the content or data is worth citingAccepted

Google says buying and selling links is a normal part of web advertising, as long as the links carry a nofollow or sponsored attribute. The difference between an ad and a scheme is the label.

Our quality standard

Every publisher goes through five checks before we approach it. If it fails one, it goes in the ledger as declined, and you can see why. The full checklist is published in our research on backlink quality.

  • A real audience

The site has readers who come for its own content, rather than a readership of other link sellers.

  • Editorial control

Someone decides what gets published and can say no.

  • A reason to link

The link helps that site's readers; it is not there only for us.

  • Honest labels

Anything paid carries rel="sponsored" and a visible label.

  • No networks

The site is not part of a group built to sell links.

Where adult brands can earn links

The honest supply of links is smaller for adult sites, but it is not empty. It is found where the brand has something to offer:

  • Industry trade press covering launches, hires, studies and events.
  • Data and research that journalists in mainstream outlets want to cite, such as surveys or trends from your own figures.
  • Expert commentary for stories on regulation, privacy, payments or technology.
  • Sponsorships of events, podcasts or awards, labelled and marked sponsored.
  • Local coverage for physical venues and businesses.

Outreach to these sources is covered on adult outreach, and campaigns built around data on adult digital PR.

The Authority package

For adult sites competing for contested searches, where a few strong, defensible links matter more than a long list. Smaller sites usually start with the Outreach package; platforms and agencies needing campaigns choose Campaign.

Every engagement starts with a free authority gap audit. All packages are on the pricing page.

Link building questions

We never publish the names of sites we work for.

Q. Is it against Google's rules to pay for a link?

A. Paying for a link that passes ranking credit is a link scheme under Google's spam policies. Paid placements are fine when the link carries rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow", which is how we handle every paid placement.

Q. Why is link building harder for adult sites?

A. Many mainstream publishers will not link to adult brands at all, and much of what is sold as "adult guest posts" comes from networks built only to sell links. The honest supply is smaller, so it takes more research and better reasons to earn a link.

Q. Do you guarantee a number of links per month?

A. We commit to a number of qualified pitches and report every one. We do not promise placements, because a publisher that will promise you a link in advance usually sells links to anyone.

Q. Can you clean up bad links we already have?

A. Yes. We review your link profile, flag patterns that look like schemes, and advise whether to remove, ignore or disavow them. Most low-quality links are simply ignored by Google and need no action.
